Sudoku

Sukoku is a number game. You start with a 9 by 9 matrix of boxes some of which have a digit in them. It is arranged as nine 3 by 3 matrices. Your task is to put digits in the rest of the boxes so that each row, each column and each smaller 3 by 3 matrix contain exactly 1 of each digit from 1 to 9.

I bought The Everything Giant Sudoku Book: Over 300 Puzzles with Instructions for Solving (Everything: Sports and Hobbies) by Charles Timmerman 3 years ago at an airport while while waiting for a plane. It took me 3 years to finish! There are 300 puzzles and I spent about 10-15 minutes most nights working on them. They start out easy and get harder. By the end of the easiest section I could do most puzzles in 15 minutes. Even after 3 years it took several days to finish one of the hardest puzzles and there were 2 I never was able to complete. There are solutions to each puzzle in the back but I only check when I am sure I finished correctly.

Charles Timmerman has a good gig. He has been developing and promoting games and puzzles for years. Nice job if you can get it! Check Amazon and see how many books have him as author or contributor.
