Larsson introduced his main character, Lisbeth Salander, The Girl, in this first book of the trilogy. Lisbeth's freshness and originality took Sweden quickly created a word of mouth sensation.

 

The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larrson

The trilogy has action, excitement and mystery. Larrson delivered it to his publisher as one huge manuscript. It was broken up into 3 well formed novels. While they can even be read out of order I recommend buying all three at once and reading them in the order published (and listed on this page). You will want the next one before you even finish the first.

 

The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larrson

Finally we find out if Lisbeth retains her genius after being shot in her head near the end of the previous book. Buy all three, get yourself some snacks and hole yourself up for however long it takes, you will get hooked and will want to read the whole thing start to finish.
